Learn More About Nancy's Journey Into Nutrition"
I have been fascinated by how food has shaped my energy, mood, and overall health. Frequent illness, picky eating, and early curiosity about my body’s responses planted a seed: I wanted to understand food—not just eat it. That curiosity eventually became my life’s work: helping others unlock the power of nutrition for lasting health.
While I did become sick quite often during kindergarten, I also sometimes pretended to be sick to stay home with my grandmother.
My 'sweet tooth' got the best of me by late teen years when I gained 40 pounds in my Freshman year of college by Thanksgiving.
After years of calculating the "perfect diets" for clientele I came to realize that almost no one ever followed these plans long-term. My own path as a semi-reformed sugarholic continues to achieve and maintain weight loss to this day using techniques of Mindful/Intuitive Eating.
The Power of Artful Nutrition Education
In college, one eye-opening nutrition course changed everything. I discovered that healthy choices aren’t about perfection—they’re about understanding and empowerment. This shifted my focus from weight to wellness, from restriction to confidence, and inspired me to guide people toward sustainable, enjoyable habits that actually stick.
Professional Focus and Experience
I’ve had the privilege of working in hospitals, public health programs, an endocrinology clinic, universities, private practice, and veteran care. These experiences strengthened my expertise in metabolic health and diabetes management and reinforced my philosophy: nutrition works best when it’s personalized, practical, and enjoyable.
My Philosophy
I believe nutritional goals should feel:
- Practical: Strategies you can actually use anywhere.
- Compassionate: Encouraging as you develop an improved lifestyle.
- Grounded in Science: Evidence-based guidance you can trust.
I mix education with humor and humanity, empowering you to make confident choices and build lifelong healthy habits—without stress, guilt, or confusion.
